I think it's amazing that Americans still don't see that Capitalism and Socialism is not a zero sum game, are not mutually exclusive - that they both are actually systems with degrees! It's amazing that Americans still don't see what Europe sees: that the best of both worlds can co-exist. That Capitalism doesn't have to be radical and inhuman in order to thrive. That you can put restrictions on greed and take into account that you're shaping human lives, not robotic lives - and still make money. Capitalism doesn't have to mean psychopathic Capitalism. It can have degrees that are set by humane concerns, without hurting Freedom. I can't believe how usually smart Americans, are completely blind (or brainwashed) to A. the fact that human beings are involved in political-economic systems, and not machines, and their needs have to be taken into account when constructing a social life system/theory. and B. that governments CAN indeed invest collective funds to the benefit of individuals, better than any other interested party, without NECESSARILY compromising personal freedom. The rest of the developed world knows that from ages ago, and only Americans don't go to the doctor because they bought pants last month. If only Americans understand that socialism doesn't mean communism and that it's not an all-or-nothing thing, but a matter of degrees - if only American's got that, America would have been the most perfect place on earth.
I always tape the view in case I miss part of or all of it. I could not believe what I heard yesterday from Michael Moore. I went to play back Michael Moore's segment and the DVR automatically re-wound to the beginning of the show before I could get to his interview. Is it really true that if you make over 110,000.00 you do not pay into Social Security? If this is true, how long has this been going on and which party was responsible for making this law?
I am a born Cameroonian, living in Germany, but i am so in love with the view. The ladies inspires me a lot. Yo go girls. I love you all, and Congratulations to Elizabeth and Tim
