Good for E.D.! I celebrated 11 years this July since undergoing a double mastectomy, one side only as a precaution. There was a 10cm mass on one side that my doctors followed for years because I was too young for it to be cancer.Luckily my LDIC did not need chemo or radiation. I realized very soon after my surgery that it was so not the biggest thing in the world and that living was way more important! I have since had several friends with cancer that needed chemo and radiation. Breast cancer care for woman under 40 needs to be the norm. Had I had better care when the lump was detected at 28ish when it was tiny, I never would have need such extensive treatment.I am 46 now with a 15 and 12 yr. old. You do the math.
