Once again... Elisabeth is completely clueless when it comes to reality regarding this issue. She is so caught up in her narrow little view of things, she can't see how this is an infringement on the rights of women.
She can't see why being forced to have an unnecessary ultrasound should be a painful process to a woman before having an abortion. She is obviously thinking only along her fevered conservative mind, which she assumes is right in all things and which prevents her from understanding any other viewpoint.
I think Elisabeth needs to consider a couple of other scenarios to get over her judgemental attitude regarding this. Such as the individual needing an abortion is not a grown woman who engaged in a sexual relationship freely, which resulted in a pregnancy. But what if it was a little girl, aged 10 or 11 who had been raped and was pregnant as a result. Now...not only will she have to endured the trauma of the rape, but also the trauma of this mandatory ultrasound.
Or another scenario of a woman who wants to keep the fetus and have the baby, but there is something wrong with the pregnancy and life threatening to the woman. Should she have to endure an ultrasound and the pain of hearing the heartbeat, knowing she can't keep that pregnancy that she wants.
Elisabeth finds every conceivable rational for why her antiquated conservative views are correct, regardless of how many rights and freedoms of others are stepped on. Yet she yells right along with the others in the GOP, calling fowl when they incorrectly accuse President Obama is stepping on one of their rights by trying to make tax policies fair and equal for everyone. She once again has proved herself ridiculous.
