Rod Stewart was supposed to perform this morning on The View; unfortunately he went home sick, but he promised to come back sometime in the near future! After Rod left, the ladies had a "Day of Hot Topics!"
VIDEO: Watch ViewTube to see Rod backstage.
One of the topics discussed was Steve Phillips's journey to sex rehab after he was fired from ESPN over his affair with an employee. As a continuation of that conversation, the ladies welcomed psychiatrist Gail Saltz to talk about sex rehab and how to diagnose sex addiction. Gail informed our viewers that sex addicts are obsessed with thinking about how to get it, constantly looking for self pleasure -- and that a lot of addicts have had sexual trauma in their pasts. After viewers were informed of the signs, Gail spoke about what happens in a sex treatment facility. Although sex addiction is not a recognized disorder in psychological textbooks, the treatment patients receive is very similar to how other addictions are treated. First, they are educated on what healthy sexuality is. They will also receive individual counseling and talk therapy, as well as couple and group therapies.
On a different note, be sure to watch Sherri on Lifetime tonight; two full hours starting at 9PM EST with a new episode at 10PM EST!

October 27th, 2009, 7:46 pmI was looking forward to seeing Rod Stewart today so I hope he feels better soon so you can bring him on the show.
Whoopi ... I love that you're on the show. That's why I started watching it again after you took over that seat. YAYYYYY!!!!
Whoopi ... you mentioned at the beginning of the show on Tuesday, October 2nd, that you couldn't sleep the night before because you watched "The Exorcist". That movie didn't scare me, I actually laughed at parts of it since I knew that the green vomit was only pea soup. However, there are some movies that keep me up for days after watching them. One is "The Entity" (based on a true story and still to this day scares me), and the other is "Arachnophobia" (which I've never actually watched ... nor do I intend to), or any other movie with spiders. I also don't watch snake movies either. I keep thinking I'm feeling them crawling on me for hours after. If you haven't seen "The Entity" try watching it. You probably won't get any sleep after that one either. Let me know if it keeps you up all night or not please. Who knows .. maybe that one won't scare you like it does me. I do enjoy my horror (no spiders/snakes) movies, sci-fi, and vampire movies (I love vampire movies)
BTW ... I love that you're on the show. That's why I started watching it again after you took over that seat. YAYYYYY!!!!
Have a Blessed Day to all the ladies of the view.

I am 74 years old and just now learning to use the computer and am really enjoying the part that let me see the behind the scene tube. Whoopi, Babe, you have more common horse sense than anyone I know. We really need a lot of people like you in the offices of high places. You have my love and respect doemoor34

October 28th, 2009, 9:00 amWhoopi talked about the scariest movie ever and I cannot agree with her more. That movie creeps me out so much that I cannot say or even type the words. I know directors make movies to be creative and to make money but I am 40 yrs. old and to this day I cannot understand why someone would make such a horrible movie. I wonder how Linda Blair feels about that movie today. I hope Whoopi had a better night sleep last night than the night before.
