Guests: Valerie Bertinelli and Abigail Breslin
March 04, 2010 | Posted at 8:24 AM

Today, friend of The View Valerie Bertinelli joined the ladies as a special guest co-host.

Abigail Breslin -- who was nominated for an Academy Award for her turn in the film Little Miss Sunshine, stopped by to chat. Abigail is now taking on Broadway’s most beloved roles -- Helen Keller -- in the new revival of The Miracle Worker.  Abigail spoke about how the role is quite physical and demanding; the character of Helen has to throw temper tantrums, and has violent shoving and matches with her teacher, Anne Sullivan (played by Alison Pill), right on stage. Later, the co-hosts switched gears and spoke about how she handled hearing she was the fifth youngest nominee for an Oscar® for Best Supporting Actress. The Miracle Worker is now open at The Circle in the Square Theater in New York City.

Mia Wasikowska, the star of Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, came by to tell us how she had to go through five auditions to get the part. Once chosen, she and the entire cast had to act in front of a green screen for most of the movie. Mia is a 20-year-old Australian who made her Hollywood debut just two years ago. Alice in Wonderland opens in theaters tomorrow; everyone in our audience took home the soundtrack and a companion CD, Almost Alice!

To close the show, the cast of Broadway's FELA! was here to perform "Zombie"! And, better still, everyone in our audience took home a pair of tickets to see FELA!
