The View was back from Halloween weekend with a full "Day of Hot Topics"!  It all kicked off with a great giveaway for our entire studio audience.  Since A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa just came out on DVD, everyone went home with a copy.

On September 14th,  Patrick Swayze passed away from pancreatic cancer -- but his legacy lives on in a wonderful new book called The Time of My Life.  His wife Lisa Niemi was here today to talk about life after Patrick and about the book (which they wrote together).  We also saw clips of Patrick and Lisa dancing on The View from back in 2005. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Time of My Life -- everyone in the audience took one home.

One of the funniest characters on Desperate Housewives, Kathryn Joosten, was here to talk about how she was diagnosed with lung cancer for the second time.  Kathryn is currently speaking around the country, sharing her story of survival and addressing some of the stigma that comes along with lung cancer.  She also spoke about her character on Desperate Housewives -- and how she and Lily Tomlin may be doing a show together!  Desperate Housewives are on Sunday nights at 9PM on ABC.
