Happy Memorial Day!

Since it is such an important holiday, the ladies wanted to recognize the real heroes who put their lives on the line to ensure our freedom. The show warmly welcomed wounded female soldiers Melissa Stockwell and Ireshekia Henry. The women discussed their experiences while serving in the war, and spoke about how they go about their lives post-injury. Both women are part of an organization called the Wounded Warrior Project; the group's mission is to honor and empower wounded veterans. For more information, log onto woundedwarriorproject.org.

Since it's the beginning of BBQ season, the host of Food Network's Unwrapped -- Marc Summers -- stopped by to tell us about the top hot dogs in America. You can catch Marc (and the several shows he produces) on the Food Network; check your local listings! Get the details on where to find the top dogs in America.

Soulja Boy Tellem put his song "Crank That" directly onto the Internet -- and consequently became a multimillionaire, at only 17 years old! He was here today to perform "Kiss Me Through The Phone" (featuring Sammie) off his new CD, I-Soulja-Boy-Tellem; everyone in our audience took home a copy!

After being so moved by the courage of the two female soldiers which were featured, and thinking that this was such an appropriate topic for Memorial Day....I was equally insulted that a young rapper whose name sounds like "soldier" was even on the same show. I have nothing against Soulja Boy Tellem, but.... hearing his name made me wonder if he was even the slightest bit embarrassed to have been included with the true heroes of your Memorial Day show. As a veteran, I personally thought it was a shame. Pick another day....ANY day, to have the young Soulja on your show.
