It was a "Day of Hot Topics" to kick off the week here at The View! The ladies spoke about many recent headlines, including the passing of legendary news anchor Walter Cronkite. They also shared a new product that allows unborn babies to use Twitter (yes, really!). It's called Kickbee, and you can find more information at kickbee.net
Then, ABC News anchor Charles Gibson dropped by to talk about new energy, and his related ABC News special Over A Barrel: The Truth About Oil. This special exposes how oil has our troops, your money, and our entire country at the mercy of hostile nations -- and what we can do about it. Every president since Nixon has talked about energy independence; even President Obama has promised to be energy independent within 10 years. Are we truly addicted to oil? Charlie's special looks to answer whether or not we can ever truly be energy independent.
Before Charlie spoke about oil, he wanted to discuss Walter Cronkite. Charlie said, "Walter understood that it was not about him, it was all about the news."
