I watched Avatar yesterday and as my family and I talked about it, it sounded more and more like the story from Ferngully .-1992-
We'll Start with the similarities.
Avatar: Jake is turned into a Na'vi
FernGully: Zack is turned into a tiny faerie.
Avatar: When Jake runs in the forest it lights up.
FernGully: When Zack and Crystal are in the cave running across the water it lit up.
Avatar:Jake was working with the enemy
FernGully: Zack was working for the enemy
Avatar: Neytiri tells Jake to listen to the forest
FernGully: Crystal tells Zack to feel and hear the forest.
Avatar: Spiritual Mother and Head Father
FernGully: Spiritual Mother and Head Father.
Avatar: Weird group dancing.
FernGully:Weird group flying
Avatar: They live in a home tree
FernGully: They live in the good tree.
Avatar: The home tree is destoryed
FernGully: The Bad Tree was destroyed
Avatar: Jake get's to ride the dragon things -I don't know the name of these, sorry-
FernGully: Zack get's to ride Batty
Avatar: Jake and Neytiri defeated the bad guy together
Ferngully: Zack and Crystal defeated the bad guy together
Avatar: The Forest comes and helps
FernGully: The Forest comes and helps
Avatar:Big machines come to destroy the Home Tree and the Na'vi
FernGully: Machines come to destroy the forest.
Differences:
-notice that it's so tiny!-
Avatar: The bad guy's a white guy
FernGully: The bad guy's a black guy
-Not saying that this is racialism but the bad guy in FernGully was some kind of twisted oil mutant-
Avatar: It's on a new planet
FernGully: it's in the Rain Forest
Avatar: Jack stay's with the Na'vi
FernGully: Zack leaves to try to make the world a better place.

Too bad for you this movie is entertaining.
My husband and I also went to see "The Blind Side." This is a great date night movie. Has the football and a love story.

@D_Ambrose I was skeptical about CGI also, but TV shots dont do it justice I was really impressed with it esp w/ 3D.

I read an artical the other day that said this had four subliminal messageses in it. Did anyone see it. It said one was on global warming another a superior race and one about the war. I can't remember the fourth one. I was wondering if it was just a rumor even though the producer of the film was interviewed and said he did have an agenda with the movie. I don't like movies that have subliminal messages and stay away from them. To all who has seen this movie what do you think is it true? Just wondering. And by the way I know everytime I pick up pop corn and a soda during the pre movies adds I'm sure I was told to. lol

I have not seen the movie but the storyline reminds me of the storyline of Dancing With Wolves.
White guy befriends Indians
White guy becomes one of the Indians
Bad white guys want Indian lands
Bad White guys fight Indians
White guy fights with Indians against bad white guys
White guy stays with Indians
Hollywood recycles stories just as much as soap operas

tot did you see the artical? Was there anything in the movie that made you think of climate change due to global warming. I really wanted to see the movie. I'm sencere I really only wondering. Thanks tot.

mmmmmm the movie sounds good. Maybe I will watch it. The commercials have caught my interest. I love 3-D. I did not get to see Bolt in 3-D and I heard it was great. I liked bolt anyway. Do you think the movie is safe for 6 year olds?

stefano is this really evil guy on days of our lives... I like cookies thats all.... the water baby has something to do with the baby jesus and some arguments that occurred b4 i left for africa.... i guess you can say i'm a little of both for my we only have one life to live and why not make the best of it.... everyone is all my children.... and the general hospital doesn;t have to stop with be and the american people....as the world turns i try to be a guiding light of equality, peace, fun, nature and GAY IT FOWARD!! after all this is my dynasty....yeah?
