I definitely hope Rex and Gigi will be united, and, of course John and Nathalie. I hope none of the events will be left for on-line watching as I still have dial-up and won't be able to watch it, and I actually don't know that I would be watching on line anyways. I like to sit in my living room and watch it in the afternoon, and I am very sad that this, the best of the soaps, will not be on any longer.
I'd like Scott Evans (Oliver Fish), Crystal Hunt (Stacy Morasco) & Kelley Missal (Danielle) to be invited, please. I'd love to meet them after taping if possible.
Thank you for hosting a tribute for a show that defines "good TV" by having both the best writing and such magnetic actors who keep you coming back for more. I'm 43 and have been watching the show all my life. My grandmother would always talk to me about her "stories." It was a beautiful bonding experience.
I now share the show with my young daughters. I feel it provides a lot of teachable moments by addressing such serious topics of bullying and teen suicide. When the character of Shane nearly took his life, my nine year old said, "Mommy, that hurt my heart - why would he feel like that." It started a heart to heart discussion on the importance of understanding that you have self-worth and everyone should be treated with respect.
I could go on and on....but the bottom line is that OLTL is quality TV that will be sorely missed.
We hope that you will include the young actors like Starr and Danny in the tribute as well as John, Natalie, Rex and Gigi.
Thanks again for hosting this tribute. I hope we can be in the audience!
This is going to be a wonderful tribute show. First and Foremost all the vets of the show Erika Slezak, Robert S. Woods, Hillary B. Smith, Kassie DePaive, and Robin Strasser need to be on this show for it to be a real tribute as they were the longest running actors on the show. Then of course it would be great if Kristen and Eddie Alderson would be on since we watched them grow up on OLTL. It would be great if you could get the Gannons to return for this show. Hank Gannon played by Nathan Purdee, RJ Gannon played by Timothy D. Stickney.
Would also love to see cips of Phil Carey and Clint Richie, three of the original Buchanen men. ANd last but not least a series of clips showing a highlight of the dance routines performed by Hillary and Robert as "Bo and Nora". Now that was the best couple ever on OLTL, they were pure magic.
I hope to get tickets for this show as I did email my request early on. This would definitely be one to mark off my bucket list for sure.
I loved the AMC tribute The View hosted last September, so I will watch this one as well. The soaps have been a TV institution for over 40 years, and they deserve a great sendoff.
AMC's last episode was so disrespectful to the show and its fans, especially its long-time fans. I'm hopeful that OLTL's last episode will be better. But if it isn't, at least I know The View will show the proper respect and love. By the way, when the soaps are gone, I will be done with daytime TV.
My favorite OLTL memories involved the Lord family and the Woleks. Joe and Vicki were such a great couple, as were Larry and Merry. My favorite love story was between Jenny Wolek and Tim Siegel (Tom Berenger), so sweet! And tragic. I also love John and Natalie and am hopeful that OLTL will not end before we've seen their long-awaited wedding. I think The View should get as many original cast members as they can find to appear on the show!
I remember when I first watched OLTL it was the first soap that had funny characters! Specifically Vince & Anna Wolek & Joe Riley! I hope they will include actors from the first 10 years of the show on the January 13 episode!
I've also been watching for the past 41 years. Erika Slezak & I are the same age so it was someone I could relate to. Started watch after my Daughter was born It use to be on at 1-1:30 that happen to be the time I feed her lunch, bath etc, and miss very few shows. Made sure when my husband was being transferred over the years that the new city would carry OLTL... back in the 70's, believe it or not, abc wasn't in every city. How that has changed.
Can't tell you how sad I am to lose the enjoyment of OLTL.... We all know its "cheaper" to have another reality show, another talk show or re-runs. then to pay All the Actors writers, directors all the behind the sceen people then it is to "shell" out a few bucks to a talking cooking show.... I hope another station will pick OLTL up, but here's not holding my Breath....
Love you guys and will miss you..... The good part is I don't have to always be home for 2-3 weekdays.... bye
I've watched OLTL since it first began and will miss this daily part of my life! I'd like to see Gigi and Rex reunited and see ALL of the Lord/Buchanan family together in the last episode with Clint and Vickie marrying again. Thank you OLTL for over 40 years of enterntainment.
I think they need to not cancel our favorite soaps and bring back All My Children. This is a sad time for all of us. Why can they not just cancel the cancellation and keep us happy. I am glad the View is honoring these shows. We will be lost without them and will not tune in to new programing becasue of it. It would be nice to see some of the originals like Clint Richie,(if he is still around) the original Clint. Vicki and him had most definitely the greatest relationship and excellent on stage charisma. Also I want to see Gigi and Rex find each other again and him to believe that she really is Gigi. I also hope that Natalie and John smarten up and find each other again. My other wish is that One Life to Live will not leave us hanging like All my Children did. We need closure to all story lines if we are never going to see them again!! This is a death in the family and we need this closure!! Thank you The View for honoring our beloved soap and their characters. It will be a sad day for all of us ABC soap fans when they are gone. It is also sad that Prospect Park could not follow through and put them back on line for us.
I will really miss One Life to Live. I hope all the original stars from the show will be on it. Like Vinney, Larry, Wanda, Merridith etc. Also, I think Tommy Lee Jones was on it. It would be great to see all of them. I hope to get tickets for the show.
I am so disappointed that OLTL will no longer be on the air. I think I was 10 when I started watching it and would even tape the show so that I could watch it after school. I am 33 now. I definitely think that the last episode should provide closure. I would love to see Rex and Gigi reunite and I would really like for Todd not to have been the one to murder Victor. I would also love to see him on the show because I'm totally in love with him. It would be nice to see the original Clint, Chris Vega, Max and Luna. I think that for those who are unable to make an appearance, that their photo should be shown in remembrance for their fans. Thank you so much for hosting this tribute and for everyone who made OLTL possible for so many years, so many decades. Hopefully, I will be in the audience.
