Sneak Peek: Kate Gosselin and LaToya Jackson Co-Host Next Week

September 11, 2009 | Posted at 2:45 PM

The next week on The View is shaping up to be a memorable one. Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin will make her first appearances on the show as a guest co-host for Elisabeth (who's still on maternity leave). Besides starring on TLC's big family series Jon & Kate Plus 8, Kate has been a hot topic herself following her high-profile split with Jon. The co-hosts discussed Jon's public comments about Kate on Tuesday's show -- think Kate will have anything to say in response? Talk about it in our message boards.

Kate will join the ladies on Monday and Tuesday. Monday's show also features the first trip to The View for Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham. She'll also be on hand for a double dose of docs, with Dr. Oz on Monday and Dr. Phil on Tuesday.

LaToya Jackson will sit in the co-host's seat on Wednesday and Friday -- it's her first time guest co-hosting the show since March of 2003. The Jackson family has been a major topic of discussion on the show, especially in the last few months; there will be no shortage of topics with LaToya in the house. In particular, Friday's show looks like a barn-burner, with guests Rachel Zoe (The Rachel Zoe Project) and the Emmy-winning Kathy Griffin.

They're not the only guest highlights this week: Oscar winner Charlize Theron, Taylor Swift, Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler, comedian Jeffrey Ross, and The Soup host Joel McHale -- who's had plenty of experience talking about the co-hosts; now he'll have the chance to talk to them.

Also, in the weeks ahead, look for two more newly-announced guest co-hosts: Gloria Estefan will step in on Tuesday, September 29th, and The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco will co-host on Tuesday, October 13th.

Which guest or co-host are you most looking forward to next week?

This week the surviving Dionne sisters, Annette, Cecile and Yvonne, now 63, asked TIME to print this open letter to the McCaugheys:

Dear Bobbi and Kenny,

If we emerge momentarily from the privacy we have sought all our adult lives, it is only to send a message to the McCaughey family. We three would like you to know we feel a natural affinity and tenderness for your children. We hope your children receive more respect than we did. Their fate should be no different from that of other children. Multiple births should not be confused with entertainment, nor should they be an opportunity to sell products.

Our lives have been ruined by the exploitation we suffered at the hands of the government of Ontario, our place of birth. We were displayed as a curiosity three times a day for millions of tourists. To this day we receive letters from all over the world. To all those who have expressed their support in light of the abuse we have endured, we say thank you. And to those who would seek to exploit the growing fame of these children, we say beware.

We sincerely hope a lesson will be learned from examining how our lives were forever altered by our childhood experience. If this letter changes the course of events for these newborns, then perhaps our lives will have served a higher purpose.

Sincerely, Annette, Cecile and Yvonne Dionne

Kate Gosselin what were you thinking?

Aww I thought she would be on tomorrow, kate gosselin. I can not wait to see her co host next week and see what she has to say. She does not seem that smart and she really hides who she truly is. I know it's tv but she should or needs to be a little bit more real or human. I just wish she would say something real. She seems to be all about the cash. But anyway I can't wait to see her and how she talks next week and gets along with the whole crew. I hope everyone is there too including barabara just to see how she interacts with them and would they like her or not. I hope she doesn't flake out. Can't wait to see her next week! Please let us know what day she will be on. P.s. I love me some "the view". Thank u!

I sure as hell hope one of the girls aren't dumb enough to do the "poor Kate" crap that is all over.John may have gave a little to much information the other night but atleast he is telling the real story, Kate as gone for the victim role and as someone who watched that show for years she is no victim and I do believe everything John says.thanks

I look forward to seeing Kate for she would make a great permanent addition to the show. She and Elizabeth could share the show, one doing 2 days early in the week and the other 3 days the reset of the week giving them both a career and time with their kids that a hubby or family member could watch kids the couple days they work.

Kate has a nursing background and could do spots on health, she is into organic eating, sounds like a great cook and is a great mother, very opinionated and outspoken and different than any on the panel yet I think she would fit in. And she could make a living this way and give her kids a break from reality TV when her TLC contract is up. I think it would make the View MUST WATCH TV again!

Well, despite hundreds of letters, emails and phone calls to View producers and ABC/Disney, we have been met with a wall of silence. That's it for me. I have 'heard' your response and you have not only lost me as a viewer on the days that this person will appear, but given the hypocrisy, you've lost me as a view forever. Ellen, here I come!
