Co-Hosts React to the Bill O'Reilly Walk-Off

October 18, 2010 | Posted at 2:08 PM

The co-hosts returned Monday live for the first time since Thursday's explosive show with Bill O'Reilly to share their thoughts.

"On this show, we always speak about standing up to bigotry, so I stood up," Joy said after watching a clip of the heated debate. "It's as simple as that."

The co-hosts went on to discuss the incident, shooting down rumors the walk-off was staged and Elisabeth sharing why she and Sherri didn't walk off and Whoopi explaining why she did.

"I hit my saturation point," said Whoopi. "I knew to get up and leave because I knew what was coming next -- I was going to cuss him out."

Watch the co-hosts react below:

Thursday’s show can be viewed in its entirety on ABC.com’s Full Episode Player and the O’Reilly segment can be seen here.

I was really surprise when Joy & Whoopie walk off stage because of what Bill O'Reilly said. I don't think for a minute that any of the hosts thought he meant all Muslins, when he said Muslins attack us on 9/11. I just felt they acted really immature & spoiled. Your a host whether you agree with your guest or not, you should always act like an adult not pout, make faces or get up & leave. Barbara I thought was terrific for what she said to the audience & how she handle that episode. When Joy came back & said, I only came back because you apoligize, sounded more like they got told to get back on stage. As a host you shouldn't ask questions if you really don't want to know the answer. I hope on Monday if they are really going to weigh in on what occur that they really look at not only what was said but how they handle themselves & how it looked on TV. The title is, "The View" not "Whoopi or Joy's View" but that's how it came across. Maybe, it would nice to apoligize to Bill O'Reilly but it would be really nice to apoligize to Barbara Walters.

Actually there is only one thought that I have about this show and that is, when someone comes to dinner at your home you don't put them down, stand up and shout obsentites at them, and basically leave the table. This is your home that you invite people into and as far as I'm concerned Joy and Whoopie have overstepped their bounds way too much this time and should be canned. It is not the first time that their body language has made me uncomfortable when someone is on that they don't agree with. Ever since Meredith left the show it has become a very cynical atmosphere and if your not on the left, Don't show up for the dinner. Thank you for the opportunity to express my disappointing view.

Actually Whoopi and Joy's walk off was a turnaround get back on or loose you job. It was said to day that The View lawyer was back stage with their contracts---no job or get back on the show. They did not tell that when they came back. It is not over yet. They get fired inwhich they should. To get pd what they get and can not act like interviews was really dissapointing to watch. We do not watch to see joy snarl and make crude remarks, or whoopi set their all puffed up and talk like a sailor---they should be fired. I will watch the new show.

Childish and unprofessional behavior from Joy and Whoopie.
