Meghan McCain to Guest Co-Host "The View" in New Season

When The View returns for its new season on September 8th, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be on maternity leave (Elisabeth gave birth to her third child, Isaiah Timothy Hasselbeck, on August 9th). But in her absence, The View has lined up guest hosts to fill in, starting with Meghan McCain on September 9th.
Meghan is the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain and author of "My Dad, John McCain." She also blogs for TheDailyBeast.com. Meghan previously co-hosted the show on April 23rd, making headlines when she said, "It's very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the president." "You had your eight years," Meghan continued, "go away." She'll be joining the co-hosts through Thursday, September 10th.
Also confirmed to guest co-host in September is former Fox News Channel anchor E.D. Hill, who will join the ladies on September 23rd and 24th. E.D. last co-hosted the show back in October.

i'm excited to see meghan! she's a woman people can relate to, not because she's young, but because she actually thinks with common sense -- not much of what you see anymore. she's nice breath of fresh air to the republican community.

August 20th, 2009, 8:42 amMeghan McCain - yes! She speaks her own mind and you can't always predict what her views will be. I find that much more interesting than someone whose "views" always to match a party line. (That means either party, Elisabeth and Joy!) Looking forward to seeing her.

August 20th, 2009, 9:33 amMeghan is a lightweight. She's not even interested enough to keep up with most issues and often has superficial opinions about those she does. Not sure about ED Hill, it'll be fun to see someone totally new.

Her father has worked this media standard for years and the media still went for the REAL liberal, it did not help him at all. Have fun Meghan (while it last)
