Get Ready for the 2nd Annual Mutt Show!
February 12, 2010 | Posted at 12:30 PM
On Friday, The View will present its 2nd Annual Mutt Show, with all the doggie-directed content you could ask for.
Not only will Sherri report from the Westminter Dog Show, but The View will present their own version of the prestigious canine competition, the Mutt Show.
Selected viewers will parade their dogs in a competition to see whose pooch is the best, and there will also be a competition among five mutts who are up for adoption. At the end of the show, one worthy mutt will receive the Pedigree Dogs Rule award.
So join the co-hosts, plus celebrity guest Bernadette Peters (and her dog, of course), as they celebrate dogs, and dog adoption, on February 19th.
And be sure to check back here on the 19th to see the dogs you can adopt!

February 17th, 2010, 10:54 amThis is SO wonderful. I foster rescue dogs and when it comes to personality and love there is no difference between the mutts and the pure breeds! I wish you guys would do a segment on being a foster home for shelter, rescue, and homeless dogs.

February 19th, 2010, 8:49 amI already have a rescue dog and would like to increase my"family"...How do I go about adopting Susie? Probably not the right place to inquire, but she is so adorable....Its wonderful that there are people like us that forgo to "designer dogs" and rescue these poor little souls and from experience they know it and make the best pets.

February 19th, 2010, 8:53 amSo happy to see these segment! I hope it inspires many people to go to their local shelter today and give a pet a FOREVER HOME. The only thing I wish had been included was the advice that although all dogs are special, please do not adopt or buy a pet impulsively - adopt when you are ready to make a permanent commitment. These dogs need the safety of a forever home.
