Dick Cheney on Everything from War to Same-Sex Marriage

September 13, 2011 | Posted at 11:15 AM

The View welcomed former Vice President Dick Cheney to the show today, and it was a no-holds-barred interview covering everything from Mr. Cheney's time in office, to the current Republican presidential nomination race, to social issues like same-sex marriage. If you missed the interview today, you can watch (and share!) the highlights below. And, as always, tell us your thoughts on it all the comments!

In my opinion this was a very soft interview.....but also quite funny that Mr. Cheney felt the need to have his wife there to protect him. But then again, that is how that he operates. Love you ladies, but today's interview was very luke warm considering the damage extended by this man and his side kick, Donald Rumsfeld. You help speak for us who have very little voices ladies.....kick it up a notch!!

I agree with ry1susan that the interview with Vice-President & Mrs. Cheney was a "soft" one. But what really troubles me is no one bothered to correct Mr. Cheney when he claimed 3000 Americans died on 9/11. Really? Only Americans were killed when the Twin Towers fell? Those buildings were known collectively as the World Trade Center and according to an AP article from Monday last 90 nations lost people on September 11. Shame on the hosts of 'The View's' to allow Dick Cheney to perpetuate another 9/11 myth. Our adversaries and enemies don't hate us for our freedoms; it's our narcissism, self-indulgence and self-centeredness they have problems with. Thank you.

Only 3 comments? Well, at least that's something -I agree with pingajoder -sad that The View would give that kind of air time to a war criminal selling his true crime book-and only allocate about what? 10 minutes to Michael Moore who has spent his career exposing the terrible acts of people like the the previous guest-At least we know The View's prioritites -I did watch the Cheney interview -expecting Joy and Whoopie to be pretty much muzzled and Cheney to be allowed his ususal free reign on the truth-I was not disappointed for sure.
